What is an ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR?

 

An electrical contractor is a Person, Business or Firm that performs specialized construction work related to the Design,Installation and Maintenance of Electrical and Communications Systems.

Electrical Contractors are classified by the work that they do.

"Inside" Electrical Contractors provide electricity to Buildings and Structures. Inside Electrical Contractors can serve as PRIME Contractors for ALL Electrical and Cabling design, Installation, and Maintenance in Commercial, Industrial, Institutional as well as Residential Homes and Buildings.

"Voice/Data/Video" (VDV) Electrical Contractors work primarily with Low-Voltage Installations, including Back-Up Power, Climate Controls, Wireless Networks, Energy-Efficient Lighting, Telecommunications, Fiber Optics and Security systems. These contractors integrate these system controls for maximum energy efficiency and building performance.

 

"Sign Contractors" Fabricate, Install and Erect electrical signs including the wiring of such electrical signs and Non-Electrical Signs. This also includes but is not limited to Pole and Post supported Signs, Signs attached to Structures and Modification of existing signs.

 

"Outside" or "Line" contractors are responsible for high-voltage power transmission and distribution lines. More info on OUTSIDE/LINE contractors is located HERE.
